The Adventures of Megan Martin novel series is a sci-fi, adventure, mystery series for the entire family.
The Adventures of Megan Martin is a series of stories that follow Megan and her friends through a series of challenges that usually present certain dangers and mysteries for the girls to deal with. The stories are written in a continuous chain-like method as each book presents new challenges while it also follows up on certain events from previous books. What this means to the reader is you can read one book and pick up the next one and while a certain number of days may have passed the story almost picks up and takes off where the previous one ended. Questions that were presented in a previous book yet not fully answered will be mentioned again and may very well be answered. Other questions like those surrounding the crown device and the medallion will receive new clues as to the origin and purpose of the crown and medallion devices.
The Rewrite of Novel 1
Ember Reign
The original novel series was intended for the young and young at heart. Written mostly for young adults but young and old alike loved the series. The problem was that many book store managers and people referred to it as a children's novel series. They frequently included us at book signings with authors who write stories for kindergarten and first through sixth grades. Publisher agents had told us "It's too long to be a children's novel." We couldn't explain it to them so they could comprehend that it wasn't a children's novel series. It is for young teens and children who love to read / good readers.
In an effort to get free of that stigmata the author has made some serious changes in the rewrite. Megan starts out on the farm at 12 with her grandpa Fred and her new pony Sparky. In Ember Reign you are with Megan and Sparky when things go wrong! After she and the pony get in trouble Martha sends her back to the city and her grandpa Fred dies. Megan returns to the farm at 17 instead of 15. The language and events of the novel are considerably more adult and realistic. The bad guys are really bad. Some of the characters have been changed and new ones have been added.
Jordan Gilmore isn't just a bad man who poisons livestock, he's a cold blooded killer.
Ember Reign
Changes
In the original Orion was not introduced until novel 4 "A Space In Time." In the rewrite he's introduced not long after Megan discovers how to use the crown. But the crown has a problem, when it's not working right or low on power it does some strange things.
Dr. Crystal Rivers is the daughter of Dr. Rivers, the country doctor. She was introduced in novel six of the original series. In the rewrite she is introduced in novel one.
Judd Johnson is new to the novel series. He's a scruffy homeless man who lives in the West barn at the farm. He carries a big knife, axe or hatchet frequently. He helps Martha on the farm. Megan and May do not trust him.
Beyond the Butler's house is another farm owned by Mr. Percival and his daughter Sydney. They have a two or three horses and a few milk cows. They also have an orchard on the hill above the house.
Simon Banister says he's after the farms he's trying to buy so he can grow produce for his stores. He's lying, there's another very lucrative reason why he wants these three farms in a row.
There are a few very serious surprises, a few mysteries with twists and turns and a who done it.
